“The Role of Creativity and Imagination in Community Formation: Theological Imagination Shapes Your Community's Story”

Dr. Fredrick Johnson will be sharing the role of creating community in an urban African American community, the Crescent area, that has experienced redlining from economic investment for over 50 years. He will speak on the biblical and theological essentials of creating community for those who are made in the image of God. He will also touch on the biblical, theological and cultural framework for ministry in the historical Crescent area and presenting models for church leaders to implement. The two models are derived from his doctoral dissertation: “Economic Development in an Urban American Church: A Model for the 21st Century”. The models are: the “circle of partnership” and the “axis of ministry”, it will be shared and explored as models that all communities can use to transform communities across the nation.
