Masters Degree in Social Work and Theological Studies/Divinity
NES has a dual degree program with the Master of Social Work
program at Roberts Wesleyan College. Qualified students may
complete either the M.Div. or the M.A. and the MSW degree in a
time-shortened manner. This is an exceptional program for
individuals considering a social work ministry in a church or
faith-based setting. Click

program. Students must apply and be accepted to both
Dual-degree students pursuing an M.Div. will be expected to
complete all the requirements for the MSW degree plus 68 required
hours of the M.Div. program or 44 for the M.A. program. Thirty
(27-30) credits of MSW courses will be substituted for the
self-selected studies requirement. For dual-degree students
pursuing an M.A. 44 hours are required in addition to completing
all requirements for the MSW degree. Persons interested in a
dual-degree program must apply to each program individually. (This
option is also available for the M.A. program.)
Full-time students attend NES for 2.5 years for M.A. or 3.5
years for M.Div. degree then RWC for 1.5-2 years for MSW dependent
on admissions status and baccalaureate degree.
- Have a baccalaureate degree from an accredited college or
- Complete the application process.
- Demonstrate readiness for graduate-level academic work and be
approved by the seminary admissions committee.
- Apply separately to Roberts Wesleyan College for the MSW
- For students with a qualified Bachelors of Social Work degree
an advanced standing option is available which has the potential of
shortening the time to completion.
