Doctor of Ministry Program Admissions

Northeastern Seminary’s Doctor of Ministry (D.Min) program is designed for experienced church leaders interested in further study beyond a M.Div or other master’s degree. A Doctor of Ministry degree is the highest professional degree for ordained persons seeking to enhance their career in Christian ministry with deep spiritual reflection and academic research opportunities. 

Northeastern Seminary’s D.Min program is a combination of convenient online coursework and two brief residencies in Rochester, NY, offering the opportunity to deeply engage with the Seminary’s community and resources. Application Process

Step 1 | Complete your free online application

Begin your online application to Northeastern Seminary’s D.Min degree program.

Step 2 | Request letters of recommendation

Recommendations must be filled out by three different people (none of whom are family members):

  • 2 ministry/ecclesial
  • 1 congregational/character

Recommendations will be generated and emailed to your recommenders through the online application. You may also download a paper copy if you require it.

Step 3 | Submit transcripts

Request official transcripts from every college or university where you have received a degree. In addition, please send transcripts from any institution where you earned 30 or more credits (with no degree) or any master's or doctoral program that you hope to use for graduate or post-graduate transfer credits. 

We recommend having institutions email transcripts to Northeastern Seminary (admissions@nes.edu), or they can email them to Roberts Wesleyan College if the seminary is not listed as a school option.

Step 4 | Write application essay & submit theological paper

Review the graduate theological paper and application essay guidelines as you prepare to write and submit the final components of your application.

Step 5 | Submit a professional resume

The resume should outline your scope of work and specifically highlight your involvement in various forms of ministry. Submit resume to admissions@nes.edu

D.Min Admissions Deadlines

The Doctor of Ministry program at Northeastern Seminary has two application deadlines — September 1 and March 1.
