Master of Arts—Theological Studies
The M.A. is a 52-credit program offering a basic theological education, with a solid foundation in biblical studies, church history, theology, and personal and spiritual formation. It is intended primarily for lay persons. Traditionally, it is the degree preferred by those going on to Ph.D. studies or a teaching professions. A capstone research seminar is required of all those enrolling in this degree program. A thesis option is available with faculty approval.
Elective Courses. NES students may take elective courses to
enhance their M.A. in Theological Studies from
Roberts Wesleyan College masters programs in Counseling, Psychology,
Education, Management, and Music on a space available basis, if
prerequisites are met.

Program Specifics
Students meet on a one-night-per-week schedule as part of a cohort of up to 27 students for the first two years. One additional year is needed to complete other required courses and field education requirements. NES also offers an accelerated program for students interested in completing their degree in two years. Contact an admissions counselor for details.
Requirements
To be admitted as a regular student in any of the Master of Arts programs at Northeastern Seminary, the applicant must:

Have a baccalaureate degree from an accredited college or university.

Demonstrate readiness for graduate-level academic work and be approved by the
Seminary Admissions Committee.
